Strategic orientation towards poverty reduction projects… Ben Habreesh Organization and Tadamon Project in Yemen

“During the exhibition of local organizations accompanying Tadamon Development Forum – one of the activities of Tadamon Project – we were able to obtain a database of the names of organizations operating in Kuwait and believe that this was our greatest gain, especially as we were included in the database of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs during 2023.

Ms. Abir bin Goodell, Executive Director of Martyr Ben Habreech Foundation in Hadramawt governorate in eastern Yemen, is one of the organizations involved in the NGO Empowerment Project for Poverty Reduction in Yemen (Tadamon) funded by Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Islamic Development Solidarity in partnership by the Al-Awn Foundation for Development.

“Tadamon Project is the latest institutional change in our organization. This change has improved the ways of thinking and studying the needs of projects, and has increased the importance of governance in the priorities of Martyr Ben Habrish.”

In addition, Bin Habreech has been consulted in its institutional building by Tadamon Project advisers and Ben Goodell asserts that institutional building has contributed to improving the effectiveness and transparency of the organization’s performance, and they have begun to establish a special accountability unit, especially as a member of the Community Accountability Network and seek to enhance transparency through social media.

Ben Goodell also speaks of two major ready-made poverty reduction projects, to be implemented during 2024 with funding from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) — and Yemen’s ringing with an American donor.

It concludes: “The strategic direction of Martyr Ben Habreech towards poverty reduction, community development and sustainable development has changed to that of 2024, with poverty reduction as its focus”.
